Board Member Volunteer Liaison
Board of Directors - Overview of Role
Nurture a culture of volunteerism, with an emphasis on making it easy to volunteer and appreciating volunteers. Be the lead contact for all Volunteer Leads. Help with communication to/from Board and Volunteer leads.
Responsibilities Pre-APO
Promote recruitment for lead positions
Work with Web Lead to update and post job descriptions, volunteer registration form, and shift sign-up
Work with Web lead to pull data to support leads
Coordinate with Town Hall leads around scheduling & execution of Town Hall meetings
Answer volunteer & lead questions, and connect people as needed
Monitor and support lead communication with volunteers (especially through Forum)
Facilitate Leads and QuarterMaster coordinating on equipment needs
Fill in for missing Volunteering Lead positions
Responsibilities at APO
Fill in for missing Volunteering Lead positions
Provide leads with final lists of volunteers and schedules with a backup at Info Booth
Ensure there's a clear way for walk-ins to volunteer (may work with Cat Herder and Recruiters on this)
Being a Liaison
You don't get to run the department, that's Ignition's job
You should know what's going on in your departments all the time
You should be representing your leads' concerns to the board
You should be representing the board's concerns to your lead
Should your lead quit, YOU are responsible to fill in until a replacement is found
Should YOU quit, the President will be responsible for your stuff
You should be enabling connections between your departments and the ones they need to communicate with
